For better choice and practise of good state management i would love to compile a list for ’state break’ techniques, ‘feel a state’ techniques and ‘positive state attributes’ to gradually get into the permanent habit of adopting

‘State break’ (i use state breaks to take the edge off an unwanted state and feel neutral before i feel a good state, as it is easier to transition.

1) TAT/EFT/TFT
2) juggling ( see andy austin youtube)
3) spinning technique
4) Represent bad feeling in words shout out and then spin around (wierd but sometimes works!)
5) Represent bad feeling in words and play with the submodalities eg say ‘depressed’ in a micky mouse voice or play with the tempo and pitch whilst repeating words.
6) think of all the positive intentions that this state could have

(i sometime need a technique for energy to have the energy to actually do the above properly and with conviction)

‘Feel a state’

1) remember a good time when you experienced the wanted state and increase the driver submodalities. (doesn’t actually work for me because i cant visualise a memory in any detail as i cant remember much!)

2) describe ‘as if’ to someone else the state you want with as much details as you can think of to keep adding include eg what facial expression you may have whilst in the state, how the state makes you feel like moving, what tone of voice you have, even what colour and movement the state is if you have a good visual modality (not me!)

‘Positive attributes’

1) Good physiology- eg straight back not slouched, correct breathing, relaxed not tense shoulders, …………..?

2) EQ- become aware of the subtle sequence of physiological shifts you (usually subconciously) go through to achieve a state, including your internal sequences Vi and Ai.

Beyond relaxation, and anything with flashing lights and sounds will be relaxing do its other benefits stand up – better sleep, faster learning, more creativity, etc? Easy to find videos online designed to relax you with flashing lights or images and sounds, though they are not as effective as you don’t wear glasses to view them?

The other versions and similar machines are lot more expensive Hastens Mind Spa is £595, other machines even more expensive than that List of Products – other

Any Independent studies done on any of them backing their supposed benefits or really just manufacturers claims?

Sure it will be very relaxing to have glasses flashing pulsating lights whilst listening to sounds with headphoness on but regarding studying with it, who has tried it and seen any benefits?

Hey guys, I live in Christchurch, New Zealand (where we just had a 7.4 earthquake that somehow killed NO-ONE – blessed or what?). I’m interested-obsessed with personal change. Started out with noticing that I have some power over my own experience, and expanding on that, and is now firmly also in the world of helping others with the tools and worldviews I’m learning.

I’ve studied NLP informally (under the brilliant teacher Mr. Google; didn’t realise until now that I think of Google as male and also that I see objects as having gender, like in the European language).
I’m studying Tony Robbins’ interventions with the Robbins-Madanes Training organisation right now, and loving it.

I like a high percentage of Buddhism. NLP seems like a great way to speed up liberation and enlightenment, hopefully decreasing the number of lives it takes to become a Buddha by, say, all of them except one. Or some of one.

My current goal in life I think is to defeat the enemy of separation, dehumanisation, us vs. them, enemy, other. Got some good look-ins to doing it too.

Of note: in other forums and real-person groups that I’m part of, I tend to be the one that’s too technical and precise and keeps asking why? beyond where others are bored, but having seen how many big words you guys use I feel myself slipping into a letting-go, who-cares way of talking. Typing.

So hi
